Veneto

Veneto has a huge variety of terrain from mountainous to marshy plains and coasts (117 km of sandy beaches), including the Venice lagoon. It is a region rich in culture and art with a wealth of cities to discover, from the unique charm and pearl of Venice, to Padova which is known for its ancient university and the Giotto Chapel, and Verona, best known for Romeo and Juliet and its Roman Arena.

Many other gems, which are worth discovering, include medieval towns such as Montagnana, Este, Monselice, Arquà Petrarca, Asolo, Soave, and Castelfranco. For those who like skiing and trekking the Dolomiti mountains are the perfect setting for a great holiday and offer breathtaking scenery and world famous skiing.

Property prices vary greatly in Veneto but as one of the richest regions in Italy, prices are to match. Expect to pay high prices in cities such as Venice (the most expensive city in Italy) and in the major ski resorts but prices are more reasonable in the countryside between Venice and Padova (Mira, Dolo) and in the lesser know resorts of the Dolomites.

Veneto offers the potential homebuyer a sound investment, wonderful Venetian architecture, easy access to the mountains and the coast and excellent connections to the north of Italy.

How to get there

Air
The region has excellent connections with both Venico Marco Polo and Treviso airports. Itt is also possible to access the region via Milan and Verona.

Car
The A4 connects east to West from Venice, the A13 connects north to South from Padova and the A22 from Verona.
