In the valley of Forni di Sopra, there is an area dedicated to beginners with everything they need to take those first steps onto the snow: ski lift, tow, moving walkway, as well as an amusement park in the snow, a sledge run and not forgetting a bar for refreshments.

The area of Varmost, offers slopes with breathtaking scenery and long runs which are always covered in snow. All 15km of runs are kept open by artificial snow machines. As you come down the slopes, there is a self-service restaurant at 1750m.

In addition to the downhill slopes, Forni di Sopra also has a wonderful 10km cross country trail, immersed in enchanting woodland.

Forni di Sopra would most suit families or couples looking for a magical Christmas Holiday. Get active on the beginner or advanced ski slopes and then unwind while you are entertained. The magical village of Sauris is not to be missed: a picturesque village of old wooden chalets that due to its location in the heart of the valley it has retained its local identity and communal spirit.

How to get there

To reach Forni di Sopra, there are direct flights to Trieste airport from Stansted with Ryanair. Transfers from Trieste are included in the price. It is also possible to use Venice Marco Polo and Treviso, which will be subject to a surcharge.
